Nicole Growdon

Nicole found Pilates while healing from chronic pain — and it changed everything. She left corporate life in 2015 to teach, opening Temple Pilates in 2017. She specializes in helping students deeply understand their body — and use that to transform how they move, train, and feel.

Nicole Growdon

Like so many, Nicole's path to Pilates began years ago in the search for relief from chronic pain and healing from a series of physical and emotional traumas. A self-confessed workaholic and maybe just a little bit accident prone, walking into a Pilates studio changed her life.

Pilates quickly became a source of strength, energy, mobility and empowerment that she hadn't been able to find in anything else - a sense of joy and freedom in her body that she hadn't felt since childhood. A return to life.

After a decade of student practice, Nicole wanted more and left her corporate career in 2015 to become a Pilates teacher. She opened Temple Pilates in Ventura, CA in 2017, after completing a comprehensive classical certification and apprenticeship program with Equinox Classical Pilates Institute.

A self-professed anatomy geek who loves to study the body - form, movement and energy, Nicole continues to develop her certifications, education and knowledge base in Pilates and complementary practices including Yoga, breath work, self myofascial massage/fascial conditioning techniques, somatic movement and nervous system balancing.

She also enjoys applying her business background and experience to manage and develop the studio, mentor other instructors and apprentices to develop their skills and career.

Roger Gonzales-Hibner

Roger has been dedicated to teaching Pilates for approximately 30 years. Throughout his career, he has been fortunate to learn from and collaborate with numerous outstanding instructors and leaders in the Pilates community.

He began his professional journey in dance, graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Dance from the University of Texas in Austin. Roger performed professionally in New York with the Solomons Dance Company and Milton Myers Dance Company, and in Los Angeles with the Lewitzky Dance Company.

Roger embarked on his Pilates career in 1995, completing his comprehensive certification at Pilates Studio NYC in 2001 under the guidance of Romana Kryzanowska. Shortly after, he connected with Physical Therapists Allyson Cabot and Gabrielle Shrier of Core Conditioning, who sought someone to join their training team with a classical Pilates perspective.

Over the years, Roger has studied with some of the most respected Pilates instructors in the field, including direct mentorship from Romana Kryzanowska, Jay Grimes, and Mari Winsor, as well as workshops with Ron Fletcher, Mary Bowen, Kathy Grant, and Lolita San Miguel. He brings the wisdom and teachings of these pioneers to his practice with authenticity and depth. For any student passionate about classical Pilates or teachers wanting to expand their knowledge, studying with Roger is an exceptional opportunity.
Roger remains committed to his growth and development by working with fellow instructors and studio owners, teaching students, leading teacher training programs, and engaging in his own practice with mentors. Today, Roger brings this classical lineage to Temple Pilates in Ventura, CA.

As an exemplary figure of a balanced, classically rooted Pilates professional, Roger possesses a profound appreciation for classical Pilates, complemented by a broader therapeutic toolkit. He understands how to collaborate effectively with doctors and physical therapists to enhance recovery and rehabilitation programs.

Roger teaches master classes both nationally and internationally. In addition to studio instruction, he currently teaches comprehensive and continuing education courses as a faculty member for Balanced Body University at Core Conditioning.

Julie Dexter Berg

In 2002, she received her certification from Romana Kryzanowska, renown Pilates elder who is often referred to as the protégé of Joseph Pilates.

The next year, Julie opened her first studio, co-founding Metropolitan Pilates with Romana's protégé Dorothee VandeWalle in Seattle, WA. Along with Romana and Dorothee, Julie has had the privilege of studying with master teachers such as Shari Mejia Santo, Juanita Lopez, and Lori Coleman-Brown.

Julie is committed to classical Pilates teaching methods and firmly believes in the transformative power of Pilates to heal, strengthen, and empower individuals across all fitness levels. Having experienced the benefits herself and through her students over the years, she knows firsthand how much Pilates can completely change the way you relate to your body and carry yourself through the world.
